My name is Thembi Ford and I am responsible for Japan at ETS. I just got back from a two week trip in Asia and had a great time in Tokyo! I got the chance to see testing centers in Japan and plan for future TOEFL iBT administrations through meetings. I loved eating sushi, eating yakitori, and doing karaoke with my friends. Although we have karaoke in the United States it’s nowhere near as fun as Japanese-style! Even though it was very hot outside, I got the chance to tour the city and pray at a Shinto temple, where I ran into a Sumo wrestler! The trip was classic Japan from start to finish.
Over the last year TOEFL iBT has proven itself to be the best signal to universities that you have the English skills needed to succeed.
We at ETS are very confident that TOEFL iBT will continue to be the gold standard for English Language achievement worldwide.
Not only is this the 6th year of this newsletter, its is ETS’s 60th anniversary, and I am very happy to have the chance to say hello to our test takers in Japan! Domo Arrigato! |
